Santa Rita Association for Education and Promotion “FUNSAREP” It was created in 1987 as a non-profit Association for Social Promotion and Development with the aim of contributing to popular promotion by working on the humanization and comprehensive development of Afro-Colombian popular sectors in defense of life with dignity, solidarity, acceptance of diversity, and social justice and equity.
We are a civil society organization that promotes peacebuilding with guarantees of rights and development with Afro-Colombian children, youth, and women and their organizations through the promotion, defense, and enforcement of the right to the city as a territory of peace, through processes of empowerment, social awareness, and political advocacy with a gender, ethnic, and differential/intersectional approach in the city of Cartagena and municipalities in northern Bolívar.
We are a non-profit social organization dedicated to supporting, training, advising, and strengthening individuals and organizations in their individual and collective empowerment, both as citizens and politically, to overcome the barriers that prevent their development on a human scale and improve their quality of life.
Funsarep wants to be recognized and acknowledge itself for: its contribution to the training and development of political actors; its contribution to strengthening community-based work; its activism in defending the human rights of women, children, and young people from low-income communities; its ability to exert political influence in the areas of human development and international cooperation; and its work in alliances and networks with cooperation actors and agents.
The overall purpose of FUNSAREP is to contribute to the human and social development of communities, primarily those of Afro-Colombian ethnic identity, living in the three localities of Cartagena de Indias, incorporating a gender perspective, building full citizenship and empowering the participating social subjects, especially women, young people, children, and social organizations, and implementing communication and organizational processes for social and civic advocacy and coordination.
